"If I wasn't an actor, I would have been a secret agent." - Thornton Wilder

Tall, skinny while boys…
They’re everywhere!
And like a basic white girl they all look the same.
The same haircut,
The same eyes,
The same clothing style,
And the ability to inflict the same fear.
(Come away, O human child)
Don’t accept compliments
Because where did those eyes have to venture
To tell me how beautiful I am?
My thoughts? My poetry? My heart –
Well… Isn’t that organ conveniently placed?
“No, I was looking at your necklace, I swear!”
Mhm… Don’t believe, don’t accept.
(To the water and the wild)
Hot summer days.
Hot, empty asphalt.
Now, I know I’m a fast walker
And I know I have fast hips
But I also know physics…
Excuse me, Mr. White Van,
But this is the third time you’ve driven by me.
You don’t need to slow down again.
But it’s okay…
Bra space is meant for knives.
(With a faery hand-in-hand)
“Do you consider yourself a feminist?”
Do you?
First of all, men and women should be on equal levels.
Each sex has its own benefits,
But tell me which is stronger:
That ball of nerves dangling between your legs
Or this elasticity that can squeeze a human being out?
I lift the couch while he vacuums.
I cook dinner while he sets the table.
I’ve got three jobs, he’s got one.
He can stay emotionally stable through tough times and I…
Well, we won’t go there.
If we can’t all get along, why not tolerate?
Second of all, do you even know how hard it is
To find a bra in my size?
2 for $5? One size fits all?
Honey, I ain’t burning nothing!
(For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.)
I am not untouched.
I’m not always stable.
I’m not stupid and I’m not useless.
I am not a major
And I am not a stolen child.
