i refuse to be silent
i was not one to brag
not the one to boast
one could say that i was moderately meek
after all
the only fights I had were the ones well fought in my head
little men battle viciously
perpetually
but
these little men fired words
from my mouth
when the inequality neared
and the hatred invaded
and my peaceful demeanor was now interrupted
i was a girl, interrupted
the fight for equality is something i will not be humble for
i will not be silent
for i swear the little men can leave my head
and battle other little men in the heads of narrow minded
i will not be silent

Dsicrimination, and recent events occurring throughout the world, especially here in America have inspired me to write this piece. No one should tolerate any form of hate, discrimination, or disrespect, and I show in my piece that I will definitely retaliate, no matter how quiet, how reticent I really am.
