Man in the Flask

An entire world, vibrant and full of life, kept from me by a sphere of glass.
The flask is sealed, preventing all by sight from penetrating the half-inch transparent material.
No noise, no taste, no feel, not even scents.
Only sight.
To see all that you want before you, but be unable to experience it.
Few thoughts are more Hellish.
Countless times I've thrown myself at the confines of my flask.
Trying with all of the might my little spirit can muster.
But of course, the glass doesn't budge.
I don't know what would happen if I escaped the flask...
Perhaps I would die, unaccustomed to the air of the real world.
Perhaps I would thrive, becoming more than I could ever dream.
Or perhaps nothing would happen...
Perhaps, without the security of my glass sphere, I would create a cage of some other kind to replace it.
I once gave up hope of ever getting out.
But then you came, beautiful and loving.
I knew you could break the barriers that surround me.
But I knew it may come at a cost too heavy to pay.
And I still don't know, if you'll even set me free or not.
The choice is yours, my flask, and my mind is in your hands.
Will you shatter the glass...?
