Books fill up my room.
Not baseball cards,
or pictures of girls,
or basketballs.
Maybe a blown up picture of …
… Pam Anderson might help.

Black-framed glasses
and a white,
pale,
lanky
body.
I should start working out.

At least I can read.
I read four books a day last summer.
The librarian,
80-year-old Mrs. Woodsworth,
she knows my middle name.
If only I had a real friend.
I am sick of seeing her old,
bony,
pale body.
Although it resembles mine.

The kids at school laugh.
Is it the way I dress?
Lacoste,
Ralph Lauren,
La Tigre.
I’ve tried every designer out there.
Staying in the house really saves me money.
My stupid rich parents give me $50 a week for lunch.
$50 times 36 weeks …
what is that?
$1,000,
$2,000,
$10,000?
I should probably know.
Straight A’s 12 years in a row
and counting.

With all of this,
or none of this –
it depends how you look at it –
all I need is a friend.

i like this one very much. your portraying a rich kid who hates his life (not trying to be mean or degrading to anyone at all) yet all people want to be is, is rich. i see the underlying message at how, yeah you can buy whatever item/non essential thing you want...but you cant buy friendships (true friendships) and you cant buy love. another message is saying at how even though a great thing like money can take you a long ways, it sure can bring you down a long ways as well.

Very sweet poem! Don't fret, my man. There is somebody out there for everyone, even if that doesn't feel true now.

*cue music*

You got a friend in me!

You got a friend... IN ME! xD

Now that I'm done with the silly-ness, on to the poem and the picture.

WOW. :( That poem hit me deep. My little cousin's a little geek-ish, like... coughMEcough... so I kinda understand what it's like to be friendless. D:

Now the picture.

OMG! THAT'S NARUTO! AND THE GIRL IS SUPPOSED TO BE HINATA BUT SO... (more »)

unfortunately this comment doesn't give you a friend but hopefully it makes you feel good. You see, people cliam they're kind and caring when in reality they're only kind and caring when it comes to the "popular" kids. Sometimes, I just don't understand why some people's worlds only go round if they hurt others...

I really like this. It is sad and makes someone have a wake up call. Not everyone can  be bubbly and outgoing, I know this. I am however, bubbly, on the outside at least. Inside, I am a lot like that. Good job, keep writing. :D
