Someone told me I was immature and needed to grow up. So guess whos not aloud in my treehouse now mr. smartypants?

Out There we block out lies
Schools say they teach us to survive
But what do we do
when we have been blinded with the truth
Girls these days have more hurt than we know
When they get raped on train
Men claim its cause of there clothes
We go along with this time
When the judges say okay thats fine
dress more appropriate next time
Girls cut them selfs
People say its for attention
To many girls go unnoticed unmentioned
Takes one 8th grader to stop photoshop
But only for a single magazine
Life is not so serene
All these girls looking up to these models
Starving them selfs to be ninety pounds or less
Just so they can say there the best
What does this teach the society thats next
Girls these days need more help than whats mentioned
Clothes should not judge what a man does to her
Clothes should not judge why she has been hurt
Size should not matter why she gets asked to the dance
Size should not be why a guy clams to love her to get in her pants
not caring it will hurt her
What do we do when were not taught to be who we are
We are only taught the book says
We are only taught what the school board says
We are taught to live our lives quietly in shame
Lets save the world one girl at a time
Its okay to be who you are you don’t have to lie
Dress the way thats true to
Be who you are
Girls these day need more help than we know

The author's comments:

This is a peice i wrote during a femisit project. It was never persented with the project but i thought it fit the theme. I feel as though sometimes teenagers tend to ignore what is happeing to girls all over the world. I just wanted to voice my oppion on the issues at hand. This does not mean to insult anybody and i am sorry if you take offense to this.
