It's Time for a Change in our Generation.

Everything was quiet until I heard POW POW POW at night.
The same friends there to protect you are not within sight.
Our generation are full of people who are fake
Fighting, fussing, and shooting a gun like it's a piece of cake
We all will have our judgement day but our generation's come to soon
Then it leaves our community torn with stares full of gloom
Guns are not toys especially once you pull that trigger
Your life flashes before your eyes with a slip of that finger
Now two lives are ruined because of a stupid childish act
Leaving the mourning family with questions not knowing how to react
Why are we fighting each other in the first place?
Is it because the way one acts or is it because of ones race
Maybe you have to represent your clique to prove your not a coward
Or maybe it's to prove which clique is in power
At the end of the day the violence has to end
Because a bullet doesn't have a name on it and that's no pretend
I'm content with the fact that he's never coming back
Memories of us laughing joking at the same time talking smack
Friends in middle school then all of a sudden we had fell off
Hearing that he passed I dropped to my knees tears full of distraught
Seeing him in that casket is not going to be a easy task
Knowing that someone you was close too time has passed
But my friend earned his wings and his legacy will live on forever
With all the things that happened his impact will change valdosta forever

Wow....... I am speechless. I also lost a friend recently. She was only in sixth grade. I think that this is the most touching poem that I have ever read, and I think that it is so amazingly kind of yiu to write this for your friend.
