I am confused by life, but I feel safe within the confines of the theater.

I love the white cotton and the bright green grass

It tickles our pale faces as we roll and fumble

The barn and pasture near it are old,

but to us they are a miracle.

Suddenly, it starts to rain

The rumble of thunder scares us so we run to shelter

At daybreak I am out

The sun is shinging through the clouds

The look on my face cannot be told

My smile is like a mile wide

I feel like all my friends are here

The flowers, cotton, sun, and the grass

I've got all the friends I need.

I wrote this piece for a poetry project.  I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I procrastinated until I finally decided to sit down and do it.  I ran upstairs to show my double english minor mother what I had done. She looked at me and smiled. I knew that I had done a good job.
