One day you are seventeen and planning for someday. And then quietly, without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And that someday is yesterday. And this is your life. - Nathan Scott (OTH)

The sunset used to bring peacefulness,
When I gazed at the orange rays,
My eyelids would go down with the sun
And the sun‘s glint would go right through them
It would mean that even if I were surrounded by darkness,
Light would try to find its way in
And I would feel its warmth
Balancing out the cold

Now,
Sunsets mean the end,
Another idle day has gone by
And I’m still the same,
Plain

Now,
When I find myself basked in light,
While the tangerine incandescence goes down,
And my eyelids do too,
All I see is darkness.

This is really good, I liked your description of change. However, I'd like to have seen a transition in the middle as well, if that makes sense. Great poem, though. And, ahem.. would you check some of my work?
