Hello
have you ever admired someone
yes, Beyoncé, your mom, anyone
and you try so hard to be good enough
all for them
Once i met a boy
nice kid
and he admired everyone
ten page texts
of me, of her, of strangers even
And this boy compared himself
to me, to her, to strangers
so he fell
and i wish i could tell him
this
don’t admire me
don’t admire her
don’t admire strangers
admire yourself
