Children twisting swings
and getting rust on
fingers caught
between the chains.
Pink flesh stained
burnt sienna,
but they don't cry,
because they're used to it.
And the thrill of feeling
centripetal acceleration
makes them lust to
grow up sooner, take
high school physics with
awful teachers, a terrible
idea, you try to tell them.
But they don't listen
because they simply can't
wait to be just like you.
They're having too
much fun becoming
bored of their youth.
