A Face In The Crowd

I feel like I'm just standing in the background,
Another character added to your story,
Playing along with the plot,
Dotting my i's and crossing my t's.
Why do I feel so empty,
Like a pit in my stomach that cannot be filled.
How can I get to a part in the story
Where my dreams are real,
Yet I guess for now
I'll just stay as a face in the crowd.
