i remember when my bestfriend told me she wanted to die
she was fed up with the world
a place filled with so much depression and pain
she said i didnt understand
that i couldnt help
but i understood completely
i had never been in her situation
but i was right by her side for 6 years

the universe could be ugly sometimes
and thats the way things work
because without the ugly how can we see the beautiful
like long walks in the fall
where youre freezing and wont admit it because your mom told you to grab a jacket
or how excited your dog is when you come home
and the embarrassing moments that turn into ridiculous stories

theres so much to experience
good and bad
with such little time
why waste your life away being unhappy
make a change

look up at the sky and know someone somewhere is doing the same thing
and just because today mightve been a terrible day
that doesnt mean tomorrow wont be the best day of your entire life
you just have to wake up and get there
