"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. -Dr. Seuss

She was small and she was gentle,
she was innocent and free,
she was never judgemental
and I knew that she loved me.
The fair white fur that caught my eye
and covered her pale skin,
her big bright eyes as blue as sky
that showed the soul within.

Soon she grew out of my hands,
leaving her clumsiness behind.
She hit no doors, and dropped no cans
but was a lady, now all refined.
She was still my baby,
and she still is
and I hope that maybe
she will always be.

I fell in love, now that is true
I was all smiles, no days were blue.
But now she’s big, attached to me,
and now I’m big, I have to leave.

A poem about my cat as I get ready to leave her and go off to college.
