Favorite Quote:
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life."

There are too many people trying to contain me,
But that's not me.
They all want me to be something I'm not;
Why can't I be myself?

There are too many wishes,
Too much of a need to be the person they never were, but I don't fit the standards.
Why should the rules of another's game control my life?
I should be free to learn the way I want, act the way I want, and be who I am naturally.

There are too many people who feel like judging others is the way to go,
But they need to just let it go and not be afraid of what others think of them.
It doesn't matter to me if there are people who don't like me,
I know I'm not perfect, but I'm the perfect me.

There are too many people in the world who are too afraid to lift their wings and fly,
And they don't want to be the outcast in society.
That used to be me once,
Before I took a chance and decided to believe.

The author's comments:

I wrote this pooem in dedication to those who are lost and trying to find who they are in the world. I want them to know that no matter what happens, there are people who love them for who they are, even if it doesn't seem evident.
