The math man says
our days are numbered.
His arms stretch
and his hands twist
to pantomime
an infinite oneness.
He takes our youth,
he takes our faces.
When I think about
how far my body
is from your mouth,
and how close
you seem
when you’re wrong,
the seconds falling away
don’t seem much like magic.
