Hundreds of leaves
on an old oak tree.
Each one appears the same,
but look closer.
Every leaf sings its own song,
it's own rhythm,
it's own patterns.
Each one so different,
but all connected
to the bark, roots, twigs,
of the old oak tree.

The author's comments:
This poem is literally about leaves, but figuratively like people. We all may have some alike characteristics or seem to be lost in the crowd, but each and every one of us has our own individuality.
