you are so screwed up
you have me in the palm of your hand
and you mold me like clay
into your hackneyed, battered sculpture
I try to be strong
but with one touch, one glance in my direction
I am cracked once again
so I hide myself behind a shiny coat of glaze
when I am near you
but the instant your eyes meet mine
they suck me in like the tide
the cruel ocean that erodes anything made of clay
so I, the powerless clay sculpture
am peeled of my glaze coat and shattered into tiny fragments
miniscule particles that sink to the bottom of the bottomless river
that is your eyes
and so I drown

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.
