dry, gritty calcium molds
stretch a muscle
one way
one way only
a worn ligament will anticipate
its fellow acrobat catches
an ankle
without the body’s circus
gravity slings your arm
limp to cement ribs
that ghost of gymnast’s silk ribbon
shimmers in my eye
and spins through my veins
