I wish I was nine years old
I know it seems silly but
You see, at nine years old you don’t care who you are with: as long as they have a beating pulse they are an eligible playmate
Grades didn’t matter; in fact, school was the last thing on our mind
Money grew on trees and McDonalds was an everyday meal
We didn’t act like we had it all together because we didn’t
Friends were real friends: the kind that have your back no matter what
We lived life not really knowing what was going to happen next and we were okay with that
At this point the ACT read “act” and college was a bazillion years away
The worst thing you could possibly do was cut someone in line and that basically made you the most hated person in the third grade
People of all ages adored us: Adults though we were the cutest thing since Shirley Temple and kids though we were the most fun people in the whole wide world

Life was a blast

The best part of the day was waking up to simply see what lied ahead
If only we still had that attitude
Maybe then there wouldn’t be a school shooting every 5 seconds and a rape every 3

Maybe, just maybe, we would get along and the world would be a good place to be:
Just as it should
