A gathering point,
A collection of ideas,
The culmination of hundreds of years.
There are movies depicting it,
Pictures portraying its vibrancy,
Tall takes that children
Dream of every night.
It's not true.
It's not false.
No one mentioned,
The trash on the ground,
The tired people,
Going to or from work,
The choking streets,
The smashed buildings.
A city of contradictions.
So much, too much, not enough.
