Excerpt from Calvin and Hobbes:
Calvin asks Mom: "Why are you crying?"
Mom: "I'm cutting an onion."
Calvin: "Life must be hard when you start anthropomorphizing your vegetables."

Colors show us things
They bring emotion, excitement and beauty into the world
Our eyes hungrily soak up the diverse flavors of
Flowers and rainbows and fresh fruit
Clear skies and lakes and mountains
Inks and dyes and car paint and house paint and every other type of paint humans use to further color our surroundings

The colors my eyes devour now are all emotional
A full palette of hues
Deep plum purple with a certain inherent majesty
Mute dusty blue longing for sunrise
Maroonish brown brick content with its place
Tinged with flashes of lemon yellow and rose pink
Testament to not only the beauty of the world,
But also the pain of hitting the ground
