I don't want to be like everyone else, I want to be me. I won't walk with all of you on the ground because I can fly. -My own quote

Sing me a song
Tell me you were wrong
Tell me when you said goodbye
That you didn't mean for me to die
My heart is crippled yet still beating
Love has really lost all meaning
No one ever warned me
Not to trust in everything I see
So I fell hard and far too fast
In love that didn't last
You left a permanent scar on my heart
You're still tearing me apart
Even though it's been forever
And the bond that was so easy to sever
I realize wasn't a bond after all
For you did not even fall
Did any part of you even care
I want to ask but I wouldn't dare
I'd hate to hear the words
Uttered from your vocal chords
It would give me closure
Of that I'm sure
But do I really want to give you up
My broken, battered heart would stop
Maybe it already stopped
And I'm just lost, casually dropped
In some kind of lingo
Wondering why you had to go

Thanks. At first I considered making it a song but I didn't want to worry about a chorus and verses. I typically don't rhyme in my poems because I do have trouble making good rhymes that don't sound forced but I wanted to try it because I thought it would add to this poem specifically.

Like the rhythm in this poem :) could be a song. some of the rhymes seem a bit forced, but others i really like
