Blue.
The color of
Water.
The color of
Someone’s eyes.
My color for
What could
Have been.

Green.
The color of
Grass.
The color of
Earth.
My color for
What should
Have been.

Purple.
The color of
Lilac.
The color of
Royalty.
My color for
Who we
Might be.

Yellow.
The color of
Sunshine.
The color of
Gold.
My color for
How we
Could feel.

Orange.
The color of
Fire.
The color of
Burning.
My color for
How we
Should feel.

Red.
The color of
Blood.
The color of
Love.
My color for
How I feel
For him.

White.
The color of
Light.
The color of
Purity.
My color for
How I felt
About you then.

Black.
The color of
Darkness.
The color of
Death.
My color of
How I feel
About you now.

Gray.
The color of
Fog.
The color of
Ghosts.
My color for
How much you
Look like him.

When I first
Saw him, I
Thought I was
Seeing you.
When I realized
You weren’t the same
I was already
Warming up to him.

Gray is also
My color for
Time itself.
I find me and you
Encased in gray.
I often see you
Break from gray;
You changed so much.

Yet I know
That you
Are not him.
That you will
Never be him.
And that you will have
A chance at
Remembering me.

Yet I know
That as smart as
He is, he can’t
Replace you.
Yet I know
Your brain, too.
You have no reason
To be ashamed.

Black.
The color of the
Dark, surrounding
The truth, which is
White.
The color of the
Light fighting
The dark which is black.

Red.
The color of the
Love that can
Bleed everywhere.
Orange.
The color of the
Burning that
Comes with love.

Yellow.
The color of the
Blinding future
That awaits us.
Purple.
The color of the
Lucky ones who
May have been us.

Green.
The color of the
Things that
Should have been.
Blue, the color of
A certain someone’s
Eyes and things
That actually are.

Yet I know
That as smart as
He is, he can’t
Replace you—ever.

Different concept. Can't say I fully understand but it reminds me of a different period of my life.
