"The moral of the story is, people suck." -Me

Slowly, the storm quiets down
Waves of daily life ebb
Leaving darkness
A chilling silence
An escape from life hidden away in shadowed corners
And in a crevice I sit huddled
Crying
A translucent projection of who I used to be
My humanity stolen away by the thieves that took my smile
And if I look up
I see the lonely moon
Surrounded by darkness of his own
And as I sit for hours in the stillness of the night
Staring at nothing
Nothing but the pitch sky and the
Faint outline of trees
A warm glow rises on the horizon
And I stand
Another sleepless eternity to precede a new tomorrow
