Remember when things were easy?
Remember when your actions didn’t have such an effect on others?
Lately I don’t.

Why can’t things be easy?
Is it life that’s hard?
Or is it the people making it complicated?

Do our emotions cloud our judgement?
Or do they make us realize our desires?

Why can’t things be easy?
Would you want them to be?

It might seem better, but would you miss the struggle?
Would you miss the fight to the top?
Would you miss the sense of accomplishment?

Maybe it’s better that things aren’t easy.
If everything was easy we wouldn’t try.
If we didn’t try we wouldn’t grow
and we wouldn’t have learned what we know.

We wouldn’t be who we are...

While writing this piece I was extremely angry at the world. I wanted to get my feelings out so I just wrote. I left my piece and once I came back to it I was in a better space and the poem leads to a different ending than expected.
