"The Fault, dear readers, is not in our stars / but in ourselves." -John Green, Peter Van Houten

Sometimes the meaning of life is so confusing,
Most of the time I don't even know what I'm doing.
My parents tell me to turn my head right,
But my mind and heart tell me to turn left.
I don't want a life they've set out for me,
I just want to be free.
I want to make my own decisions,
I actually want people in my life to listen.
I'm done listening to what they have to say about my life,
They aren't the ones who roll the dice.
I just want to live on my own,
The place I used to call home isn't really my home.
It's their home,
I don't feel welcome in this private dome.
Wish me luck,
Because next year I'm running away in my old beat up truck.

The author's comments:
I'm really not going to run away! But I was just expressing how I feel at the moment which is mad at my parents and yes sometimes... actually most times I wish my parents didn't have control over me and my life but that's how it is and how it will be till I'm 18.

Never say goodbye, because saying goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.

I love this poem so much! I love how it rhymes and flows together so well! Like Malaika said.  I also love how open you are about your feelings

I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. - James Michener

I really like this! I like how the lines either rhyme or almost rhyme, this poem floes really well.
