I can’t drink tea anymore without tracing your lips on my cup, and while rosemary flashbacks coat my tongue, I force myself to swallow remembrance

I drowned in lavender and honeydew A sickly sweet chamomile covering my eyes and crawling up my spine, while a rainy day thunders into my veins

A herbed tea searing my lungs and shattering my ribcage as if Persephone herself had damned me to Hell

I light a match, and set forth a pot of coffee
