Snow came down in torrents,
a cry for my soldiers warrants.
Roses with frozen petals,
Birds frosted in their nettles,
Winter came like a battle,
war and strife, and brattle,
Snow and ice, cold and dreary,
made all the pretty things weary.
The endless white sheet,
we all prayed for heat,
while all things sweet
died young.

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

I know this might sound silly, but we do live ina snow battle. So good, that's all I can say. Thanks for sharing this!

Arise and be all that you dream - Flyleaf

I love the colorful vocabulary in your poem! Especially "Brattle". I like the meaning as well. Five stars!
