the sky turned black and that's
when i knew
that nothing lasts forever
the waves caressing the shore
will always wash away your footprints
no matter how deep the love
someone will always end up
getting burned
and in an attempt
to hide from the flames
i guarded myself with steel walls
i have broken every mirror
because i'm afraid
i will no longer recognize myself
and i'm the only sane person
in this bitter goddamn world
