"Be your own hero.Save yourself.Grow Up" - Mr. Garcia

As I look at you
You look at me
We say nothing, we stand there
Quietly
Like strangers that meet on a busy street
As a thousand days pass by
We still don’t speak
There once was a story between us two
A story that gave us anything and everything to say
Something happened
Something happened that caused you to change
You changed into something that pushed me away
To this day I have nothing else to do
But to sit alone as I see you walk by me
Saying goodbye was the ending to this everlasting story
I found out that calling you “my friend”
Was not my answer to anything…

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem my freshman year of high school. I was dealing with someone who was embarrassed to be around me. This poem is basically about how friendships and even romantic relationships can turn into something negative such as becoming strangers to one another.
