I am sensitive and caring
I wonder when I'll be happy
I hear the ticking of the clock
I see the lights flickering
I want to be happy
I am sensitive and caring

I pretend to be happy
I feel the mask cracking
I touch the tears running down my cheeks
I worry that I won't ever be happy
I cry when I think of death
I am sensitive and caring

I understand that I must love myself or no one else will
I say that I need to forgive
I dream of happiness
I try to obey all orders
I hope to be honest and happy
I am sensitive and caring.

The author's comments:
When I was at one of my old schools my English teacher got me into the different types of poetry like I Am, Sestina, Free Verse, and etc. This type of poem is an I Am poem.
