I wish I could have witnessed
the moment God decided
to fill your eyes with stars

Did he know you would shine,
your stare so bright
it can dissolve the shadows?

I imagine he saw your glowing gaze
and realized that the world
needed your untainted light

I thank God every day
because even on cloudy nights,
I can still stargaze
