From Being Whole To In Pieces
She’s elated,
in a total state of bliss.
Invincible, she stands
on top of the world.
Nothing can hurt her because she has him.
“He’s perfect,” she says, an ecstasy of love.
She’s enchanted,
mesmerized by his kiss.
Completely captivated, she thinks
nothing could come between them.
She’s broken,
eternally destroyed.
Desolate, she falls to her knees,
thoroughly and ultimately obliterated.
No longer indestructible,
she’s an emotional roller coaster
that just keeps going down.
“He’ll come back,” she whispers,
nothing but despair in her voice.
But he won’t come back.
She’ll remain shattered,
and he won’t care.
