Chris always leaves us for the last minute
Making us look bad in front of his peers
Not giving a damn about our capabilities
Hindering us from our full potential

If he would give us time
We could prove to him that we have the ability
Of making a 1 pager a 5 pager
Or changing shows to displays

Turning a 5 year old’s vocabulary to a 20 year old’s vocabulary
Spewing words a regular person would not understand
Sophistication and proper grammar
Would surely welcome him an A

If he would stop saving us for the last minute
We wouldn’t look like this
All wrinkled and stepped on
Stuffed into a disorganized folder just to have an 80 written on top

Maybe he will change
maybe not, but possibly
That day better come soon
Or it will be too late

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem because it is coming to that time in my high school life where I need to start taking things more seriously. This poem is a harsh reality for me because I am very sloppy with my work and I need to start changing that before it is too late (Senior Year). This poem is to motivate me to change for the future.
