i’m spending nights
sleeping with my back against
concrete floors,
hoping that i’ll wake up
and not
feel the vertebrae mountain range
quake at only distantly related
thoughts of you,
but lying on the floor does nothing
to ease the aches, the pain,
the rolling tides in my brain,
the midnight sniffles
and cracks in my head,
cracks in my back
and you you you
