You climbed to the peak of the world,
And shouted out with victory.
But no one could hear you,
No, you were too far up
For anyone to see your accomplishment.
You look up to the sky and realized,
That you’re still insignificant.
You’re just merely another speck of stardust
In this vast universe.
The wind picks up,
And you’re swaying back and forth.
Until you lean so far over,
That it snaps and cracks.
You tumble down,
Farther and faster,
Farther and faster.
You land with a crash.
Now, you’re the center of attention,
Everyone is looking at you.
Concerned at first
But once they see you’re okay,
They laugh at your failure.
You tried to protest,
But was discouraged.
Hey, you made it to the top,
So what if you fall?
That doesn’t determine your limits.
They see your failure,
Your mistakes.
They don’t know your journey,
Your accomplishments.
You stand tall and proud,
No matter how they try to put you down.
After a while, they stopped.
Stared at you in confusion,
In awe.
They ask how, why, what.
You spoke of stories, of grand tales.
You told them how you touched the sky,
Slept on clouds,
Talked to stars.
You sparked fire in their eyes,
Ignited hope into their dreams.
They climbed to the peak
And realized the beauty of self.
Even when they came crashing down,
They found their answer.
