"I wish my life is a video game so everyday I could push restart." -Jeremiah

Ms. Ramos proclaimed,
Go to your house and think,
Think about yourself and write a page.
Let the page become of you,
Then, your page will be true,
And it will be all about you.

Is that even really possible?
I am 16, mixed, born and raised in Sacramento,
I go to school here, first Herman Leimbach, then Fern Bacon and now Luther Burbank,
For now I’m one of four blacks in my 6th period History class.
I walk out of the school to make a right and walk down Florin until I get to Franklin.
Make another right and keep walking until I get to Shining Star.
Passed FoodMaxx, KFC and A&W, two gas stations, Lollicup, Goodwill, and the Creek the bum lives under with his pet dog.
Once I hit Shining Star I make a right to home sweet home.
Now I sit at my kitchen table writing this page.

The truth is deep and dark for me, as I’m sure it may be for you.
I’ve experienced the pain ,
I’ve felt, seen, and heard Pain, I still hear you,
Hear you, hear me, the both of us express on this page,
Well, I like to eat, chill, laugh and fall in love,
I love to read, write and talk about any and everything,
I would like a puppy to love and adore ,
Or a laptop all my own for Christmas,
I know your skin color doesn’t decide what you like and dislike,
I just wish other people will understand,
A world without color discrimination,
Is a wish I’m making.
So what color will my page be that I write?

Being me is more than being black and Creole,
And now it is a part of you to, my teacher,
You maybe Mexican but you are now also black and Creole.
You are a part of me as I am apart of you,
That’s American,
And that’s what America will do,
Sometimes you may not want to be a part of me,
I know that this is true,
Because sometimes I don’t want to be a part of you,
However we are apart of each other and we grow more each day,
When I learn from you,
Do you learn from me?
Although you are older, wiser and more experienced,
And of course more free.

This is my page for 6th per. history
