heartless

Right now i need to breathe,
dry my tears, rip my heart off my sleeve
and crush it.
I set the pieces on fire
and stomp on the ashes.
I smile at the mess I made,
happy that I’ll never feel again.
But, my joy ended
when he kissed my lips.
I cried,
not for me,
but for him.
I know I can’t return his affection.
I stare at my reflection
and I smash the mirror.
he holds me so close, so gently,
It’s MADDENING.
I listen to that beating in his chest
and I cry,
not for me,
but for him.
