I'm the wall they speak to
Expecting no response
Just something to talk at
Just something to ignore
To make themselves feel above something
They have no idea what they do
Every time they talk about what not to be
A new insecurity of mine forms
They've melted together
into a huge gray wrecking ball
They now hold my greatest weaknesses
Everything that gradually eats away at me
The wall holds no importance to them
Just another obstacle
Plenty of others like it
Replaceable.
They give the metal ball a good swing
No blueprints for the action
But it feels right
The sense of power is overwhelming
Controlling the fate of the barrier
Taunting it with its worst monster
They're comfortable now
Thinking they perfected it
But they push too hard
Trying to cause more misery
The chain gives a little slack
And all of the sudden it's slipping
They desperately fumble
Trying to grasp the links
But it's too late
They hear a crash
But it's a scream
They don't know what's happened
But they like it
Regaining sanity they look around
In the midst of growing confidence
They broke the innocent panel
That stood strong for so long
It's gone
Everything in the room is in pieces
Except that boulder
Lying on the floor
Covered in white plaster.
