you are shards of glass
broken and scattered
lying in lonesomeness
on the cold wooden floor
you are beautiful
when the light shines
in just the right way
bouncing off the pieces
sending iridescence
dancing across the room
but you are dangerous
one misplaced foot
and i am slashed open

but sparkling rainbows
won't sew me back together
