Little Bit of Laughter

There was a little bit of laughter
That was caught in the wind
And sailed over the ocean
It became tangled in the hair
Of a little Scottish girl
Who carried it with her
So wherever she went
The laughter came with her
And taught her to smile
Now the laughter belonged
To a Canadian boy
Who lost it long ago
He was always sad
And lonely after that
Because he had lost his laughter
And then one day years later
The two of them met on a beach
In Africa while swimming
The Canadian man found his laughter
Tangled in the hair of a Scottish woman
She had found it was lonely
Laughing all by herself
And they both decided to share
The laughter and smiles for the rest
Of their lives spent together
