-Hush-

Standing, leaning, on a post, melancholy
Painted on your face. You give me your hands,
They’re cold, let me warm them for you,
Look into my eyes, smile, it’s no folly.
Fall onto my breast, today feels sleepy-
So sleep, child, hush; there’s no need to stand-
We can sit, lean on me, all I’ve planned
Can wait- nothing else matters to me.

If you feel you’re a burden, don’t worry, for
I am willing to bear it. You can depend
On me to protect you, it is no chore.
And while I can’t force your sorrow to end,
I can help you find what’s in store for
You, because you are my very best friend.
