I wish I was a bird

So I could spread my wings and fly away

I wish I was a dandelion seed

So a puff of wind could take me somewhere new

I wish I was a cheetah

So I could run fast and never look back

I wish I was a balloon

So I could float freely

I wish I was a raindrop

So I could be swept up in the current and escape down the river

I wish I was a cloud

So I could meander across the horizon

I wish I was smoke

So I could calmly leave my violent beginning

Really, I wish I was anything or anyone

Other than me
