My own experience is that once a story has been written, one has to cross out the beginning and the end. It is there that we authors do most of our lying.
- Anton Chekhov

Your face fills with tears as the news is stuck
Your heart drops and your throat tightens
The news of a loved one’s gone tears into your heart
The happiness falls forgotten in some dark place
All you can picture is his face as details slip out into your ears
But there’s something you’ve forgotten about
Death isn’t a terrible ending
His death means that he’s gone off to a better place
His death means you can be happier for him
Death is only the beginning of a new life
His death will only be in agony if you wither down
So smile, think of this as a new life
A better life that is naturally given to us
God gave us birth to make us who we are
God gave us death to reward us
All you can do is look to your blessings around you
And think, I’ve been blessed
So smile, and think of a better place
