The Self-Proclaimed Architect

Memories fall like feathers from my mind
Slowly, wishing for a quick rewind
What I would do for one more instant
But now I can only be reminiscent

Memories fall like raindrops from your mind
You'll forget soon enough, you will find
No sweet history that you will ponder
You'll build your new life as you wander

But I cannot forget all the heartfelt times
Whether or not you were being kind
The strings of my heart are still attached
to you, the only pleasant thing I had

So, move on happily and quite blind
to this life you told me of so many times
Live in that “attractive” mansion you will build
And forget my heart, so wonder filled

I'll be here trying to cut those strings of mine
even when I dream of you in my sleep at night
But for the record, I would have run away
with you, my love, for all my days

Wow! Nice rhyming and rhythm schemes! I like how you compare memories to feathers falling and raindrops! You are definately a good writer!
