last night i wrote a story. it was about a girl who ran away.
she ran from her home and from her problems.
she started a new life.
when she left she was only 18.
she had nothing, no money, just a dream.
she wanted to love and to be loved.
she needed to write.
this girl searched long and hard for someone to save her
from herself.
but she soon realized, that she needed to be the hero
of her own story.
because there is no one who would understand
and no one to help her along.
she struggled to comprehend why
a lot of things went wrong.
she trusted too easily
she fell too fast and hit the ground too hard
and felt things deeply.
oftentimes, her emotions got the best of her.
she fought with her parents
but mostly with herself,
about cutting things and life and death.
she has an old soul.
when she left home she decided to take the road less traveled.
you might think that it was an inspired decision
but she didn't even know she chose that path.
she learned a lot.
she hurt a lot.
she cried a lot.
but mostly, she grew a lot.
so the girl that ran away
from her home and from her problems.
started a new life and
eventually followed her dream.
she loved and was loved in return.
she wrote of love and of her journey.
and she was her own hero
because she was the only one who understood.
