Mr. Skeleton

The skeleton in my closet
watches me as I sleep.
It works its jaw for words
on teeth that are not there.

There amongst my sweaters,
the skeleton watches me dream.
It pulls away my flesh.
until my skin covers its bones.

The skeleton in my closet
pulls on a pair of shoes.
There is a knock on my closet door.
Who may answer it?

I love the imagery of the skeleton that is used along with the horrific atmosphere of the entire poem! Terrifically well-written!

I would definitely love to know what your inspiration for this poem was. And I can't for the life of me figure out what it represents. I love it though! Keep it up! :D
