Dream big, because inspiration, like fire, spreads rapidly. - Me

I invest time and feelings into her,
As if she were a stock,
Expecting to get my share, but it was never there,
It was in my grasp, I had it by a hair,
But it pulls away, simply because it’s scared,
It’s kind of crazy how after all this time, we’ve lost whatever it was we shared,
But no matter how hard I try I can’t lie to myself when I say that I no longer care,
I’m starting to understand why me and relationships don’t mix,
It’s because I put relations on ships and send them out to get lost in the river styx,
Leaving myself with only the relations, but I’m different,
I find it tiring trying to change myself in order to find the right one,
So I break the word in half, I end up with relate and shuns,
Apparently I’ve shunned myself from the only person I actually need,
This feeling within myself, I can’t tell if it’s lust or if it’s greed,
Like math I bring down the re-late, this part is always the hardest,
Because I’m late again, by time I was ready to say hi, she’d already departed,
Her aura knocks me off my balance, I plant my feet firmly like seeds in a garden,
I think about how I messed up, but I tend to avoid the topic like a sea that was uncharted,
In a room full of smoke, her love is what I need just to breathe,
You can check my pulse if you still don’t believe.

I really wanted to work with the idea of breaking the word "relationships" down and using the words I get from it to create the poem.
