A game.
An organization.
A passion.

A game founded by tough men,
Looking for a genuine sport.
Violence integrated into the fibers,
The very fibers themselves.

Grimaces and Grins come from the field.
The field lined with the bold white stripes.
Smells – grass, sweat, and body odor
Are loved by all who play the game.

The game played by eleven.
Team work needed from all.
The ball has two white stripes.
The ball is the foundation of the game.

An organization where men and boys,
Can come together and play.
Where boys turn to men,
A test made into a sport.
Numbers, formations, and patterns
Make up the way the game is played.
Teams of courage and loyalty,
Play each other for the win.

Many leagues with different teams,
They are scattered everywhere.
Strong and weak players battle,
But they play together as one.

A passion driven by the love for the sport.
A love so deep it stays forever in your heart.
The souls of each player yearn for the ball.
Bodies are put on the line just to play.

Players get injured but they push through it all,
To come back and play the game they love.
Coaches are past players,
They couldn’t give up the game.

The game is driven by the hearts of boys.
Those hearts grow into the hearts of men.
Men who play the game with passion,
Stick with it forever

This is Football…
