I tend to pull out my hair when I'm nervous
Or when I'm scared, upset, even happy.
Each hair symbolizing pain and despair.
Maybe if I physically remove it from myself
It'll be gone forever, forever. Forever.

I'm as free as my hair.
The surface is free, but
Each strand of hair is locked on.
Trapped on. Hooked on.
Unable to move freely. Dead.

The author's comments:
Lately I've been feeling trapped by my thoughts and oppressed by my past. I try to stay positive, but it's hard when I can't move on from the past.
